I have the best kids! May 21, 2009

Thursday a.m. I twisted the top of my right foot going down the stairs to our garage. For a moment I thought it was broken because I heard an audible pop-that'd be my luck. I was able to pick up Hunter from preschool and pick up Makenna and Bridger as well. But, as soon we got home from the elementary school my foot was killing me. I couldn't put any pressure or weight on it. I ended up staying on the couch the rest of the afternoon/evening. Well, my kids were too cute! While Terry and Bridger were at swim team practice, Makenna, Hunter (& Sawyer) decided to take care of me. They quickly ran to the basement and threw on some doctor outfits and got busy. They did an excellent job and I sure enjoyed being doted on. (Hmmm...maybe I need to get hurt or sick more often.)
Nurse Hunter, Dr. Johnston (a.k.a. Makenna), Smiley Sawyer

Hunter even read to me from one of his Magic Tree House books. Makenna made sure there was a visitor's chair right near the couch. She had Terry sit there when he first came home from work.

Of course, Sawyer needed a turn. He "read" me a couple of books as well.

Makenna had everything--the identification badge, her signature card, notes about my care, etc. She even brought me water and medicine on a tray. She also recorded my pain level. Too cute!

More Doctors--May 2009

The kids found our play stethoscope and wanted to check out my heartbeat. Hunter was first.
(Notice his backwards shirt-it was backward's day at preschool-and he left his clothes
like that the rest of the day.)
Makenna was next.

Then Sawyer.

I was even entertained by some fighting warriors.

May 2009

On his birthday Sawyer was excited to head to a restaurant with just Mom and Dad.
The best part was having the waitress and others sing to him. Sawyer was elated!

Our preschool graduate! Such a handsome boy! Hunter insisted on wearing his
suit and he looked sharp! May 18, 2009

Posing with the cool boy graduate cake-there was a girl one as well.

Number 1 graduate in our eyes.

May 2009

It was too quiet in the house one afternoon and I couldn't find Hunter or Sawyer.
After a quick look around...look what I found...
Two boys having some book fun. (I keep a basket of themed books out where
the kids have access to them. I change these monthly. The kids can't wait each month for the new books to come out. Sure helps having a nice book collection from my teaching
days-of course, I'm addicted to children's books so I'm always adding new ones!)

Sawyer was so excited for his birthday! Here he is opening gifts on his birthday
morning...May 8! He was thrilled to receive a new Power Ranger...can a boy have too many?

April 2009

Hunter's our reading maniac. He loves reading us bedtime stories.
Hunter heading to his first T-ball game. He was so excited.
Here he is right before the game.

Our 5 year old! Hunter was so excited to turn 5 years old on April 19th. Here he is with our lovely birthday bear. This bear was purchased when Makenna was only days old and we've
been using it ever since for monthly and annual pictures.
