Can you believe it's been a year?! Our Sawyer a year ago--August 2007

This picture was taking during our visit to New Mexico to see Papa and Grandma--June 2007. We visited them for a month. It was during this visit that Kori noticed the lump behind Sawyer's left ear. Papa and Grandma have a couple of fireplaces in their house and Sawyer loved getting into this one. Thankfully, we caught him before he got on the carpet.
We were encouraged to have Sawyer's picture taken professionally before he started treatment. The photographer at The Picture People really had a great photo session with Sawyer and decided to display one of his pictures.
Eating some candy in the playroom at the hospital--August 22, 2007. Sawyer loved this playroom and it was our salvation during our hospital stay. We'd sometimes visit it at 2 a.m.

Notice how the lump pushed Sawyer's ear out. This picture is really gross because after Sawyer's biopsy, the necrotic tissue and other fluid started working it's way outside of the biopsy site. It was really quite disgusting. 8-22-07 Here's Sawyer right after his first port surgery. Just a few minutes after this picture was taken, Sawyer was given his very first chemo treatment. 8-25-07
